North Carolina rapper J. Cole will headline and host his inaugural Dreamville Festival on Saturday, April 6, at Dorothea Dix Park in Raleigh.
The music lineup will include 21 Savage, SZA, Nelly, Bas, Big Sean and many others, with Cole himself as the culminating act.
Two stages, “Rise” and “Shine,” will be set on each side of the park with only one artist performing at a time. The music will open with rapper Mez at 12:30 p.m., after the park gates open at noon. Cole will perform from 9:15 to 10:30 on the “Rise” stage.
Money that the festival raises will benefit Cole’s Dreamville Foundation, which encourages underprivileged kids to achieve their goals, and the Dorothea Dix Park Conservancy, which runs Raleigh’s largest city park.
The event is just a part of a busy year for Cole. The rapper already released the single “Middle Child” on January 24, which quickly shot to number one on the iTunes music chart. Cole and 21 Savage collaborated to produce the single “a lot,” which Cole performed at halftime of February’s NBA All-Star game in Charlotte.
Cole is also expected to release his sixth album, titled The Fall Off, in the upcoming months. His label, Dreamville, is set to release Revenge of the Dreamers III in April, a collaborative album featuring all of the musicians signed to the label.
The Dreamville Festival was originally set to take place on September 15, 2018, but had to be rescheduled after Hurricane Florence spread wind and rain across North Carolina.
The event will also offer art and merchandise booths, as well as host nonprofit business representatives. Over 25 food trucks will provide hungry music fans with food ranging from shrimp to Italian ice.
Transportation will be provided by Regional Express Shuttle, which will drive fans from Cary, Chapel Hill, Charlotte, Durham, Fayetteville and Greensboro to the festival grounds and back. Official event parking is available at North Carolina State University for $20.

I love how J. Cole dedicates so much time to coming back to NC and put on a show for his home state while raising money for charity.
